42 designers, 42 dispensers, one brand. In the context of a design competition for Bad Reichenhaller and the Berlin University of the Arts, 42 students designed unique designs for the 500 g dispenser. Which will end up on the retail shelves...
Create a concept to generate a limited design edition of the Bad Reichenhaller 500g dispensers – which would enable a high media profile and communicate Bad Reichenhaller’s commitment to a new generation of designers.
Working with the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), the 2010 Bad Reichenhaller Design Competition was brought to life. Between 17 May and 30 June, young designers studying “Visual Communication” had an opportunity to design and submit their proposals for the 500 g dispenser of Bad Reichenhalleeer Iodine Salt.
A total of 42 high-quality designs were received. An expert jury from Bad Reichenhaller and university representatives selected five winners (places 1 to 3 as well as two special prizes for “innovation” and “production”). A few of the proposals were implemented by Bad Reichenhaller and brought into the trade as a limited edition.
In the first days after the end of the competition, 30 media reported on the competition – followed by a second wave, as the dispensers were available in the trade.
